Ang Nanay ni Haku.

Advance Happy Mother's day to all mothers, mama, mommy, mamita, naynay, ina, inay and nay out there! :) I made a poem dedicated to my mom. It's written in Filipino, and I hope you like it. Enjoy reading! Thank you! :)

---------

"Ang Nanay ni Haku"

Siya ang nag-aruga sakin sa loob niya ng siyam na buwan.
Siya ang nagtatrabaho para samin - umaga't gabi.
Siya ang isa sa mga kaibigan ko.
Siya ang pinakamamahal kong ina.

Madalas siya'y pagod mula sa trabaho.
Madalas siya'y pinagagalitan kami.
Ngunit ganun pa man ay mahal niya kami.

Something special, and very well written from my mom.

Anna Patricia

I wanted to name her Davita, a female king, a female counterpart to Goliath, after a character in Chaim Potok’s novel Davita’s Harp.

But as a baby, she responded to my sisters’ “Patty” and so she’s now Patricia, of patrician taste and interests.

Anna Patricia, the girl who changed my life completely and absolutely. She’s now 16 and still growing into the amazingly wonderful person that she is fated to be.

When she was about 3 or 4 years old, Tring or Potpot, as we call her at home, asked me if the stars were simply holes in the blanket that’s the sky. What an imagination to match any astronomer’s.

When she was about 10 one summer vacation, she started selling pastillas. And after her first sales of P109, she came to me, wide-eyed, and said, “I earned P109. I can now build my pastillas factory. I have an inheritance to leave my children.” She went on to check the other available pastillas products in Waltermart, doing her own market research. She has quite a potential as an entrepreneur.

For the past couple of years, she’s been learning – on her own – Japanese and Korean. Using a combination of books, CDs, and the Internet, she’s been immersing herself in cultures quite different from ours. She’s even adopted a Japanese name. Her openness to what’s different will be useful for her when she becomes a diplomat, something she said she wants to be.

In a couple of months, she’s off to college, and like any paranoid mother who knows that it’s a step away from me, toward a life more independent of her parents, fuller of life’s perils, we – her father and I – keep the faith that she will not only survive, but prevail, because she has imagination, a willingness to engage life, and compassion.

I love you Tring. – Mama

Iilang araw nalang..

13 March 2012, Tuesday
Malapit na kaming grumaduate. Well, syempre iilang araw nalang. Bukas na nga ang last day ng final exams, eh. Lahat nalulungkot, emotional, excited, natutuwa-- mixed emotions for short.

Pinaghalo-halong pagod, takot, lungkot, at kasiyahan,
Lahat ng mga 'yan, dito ko naranasan.

Iba't ibang tao ang aking nakasalamuha,
Iba't ibang muka nila ay aking nakita.
May mga taong aking naging kasangga
At mayron rin namang aking nakabangga.

Sa loob ng apat na taon na 'to,
Masasabi kong ako'y natuto
Na hindi lahat ng tao sa mundo
Ay ibabalik ang ngiti ko.

Pero sa aking ika-apat na taon,
Napunta 'ko sa da best na seksyon. :)

Kailangan man nating sa isa't isa'y mawalay,
Maaalala ko naman kayo habambuhay. :)

"May iwanan, pero walang kalimutan.
Walang forever, pero may for a lifetime."

Maraming salamat, Loulou. :)

"Special Feelings For A Friend"

"Special Feelings For A Friend"
Haku Matsudaira

It was a nice, and cold Monday night. It was also, already past eleven. Dylan Cera was busy typing his English project. He was wearing a nice blue t-shirt, and his jersey shorts. His friend, Katherine gave him the shirt. He thought of her for a while, her confession, their moments together, and he smiled to himself.
Suddenly, his cell phone rang. He did not notice it at first, for he was so busy typing, and he had his earphones on to full blast music. He just noticed it when he was about to get the bag of potato chips, that was in his bedside table. Dylan, answered it, curious of who made him a call, on such a time at night.
            "Hello?", Dylan asked his caller.
"Hi Dilly!", the female voice shrieked.
"Hello? Who's this calling, please?", Dylan answered in an irritated voice.
"You don't remember me anymore, Dilly? We used to be friends, and I really, really like you! I even think that I already love you! Duh!", said his caller.
Dylan made several guesses of who his caller was. After a lot of incorrect guesses, he decided to give up.
"Okay. I give up. I can't remember who you are. I'm so sorry, but you caught me in the middle of making my project. Hmm. Will you call me back later? Or maybe, you could just leave me your phone number, so I can call you back.", Dylan said in a stressed out, irritated, and tired tone.
"Omo. Omo. Omo! I'm so sorry, ne~. Did I bother you? Did I make you mad? Did you get irritated? Omo. Omo. Ne~ Maybe, I'll just call you back later. I don't want to bother you anymore, ne~", the unknown female caller said.
It seemed that she will be bursting into tears in any minute. Dylan was bothered by his caller's emotions. He did not know how to respond properly into such action.
"Hey! Wait! Don't hang up!", he shouted at the receiver of his cell phone.
"Why? I'll just call you later. I don't want to be a bother.", said the caller, who was already crying.
"Please, Katherine. I was just kidding. Of course, I still remember you. Now, don't cry.", he said in a gentle, calm, and soothing voice.
"How did you know it was me? A while ago you can't even remember me, but now..", she said in an amazed, and somehow shaky voice.
"Of course, I remember you. Hmm. How are you?", he asked, while he sits into a more comfortable sitting position.
            "I'm fine. Hmm.", she mumbled.
"So, why did you call? Do you need something? Seemed a long time ago, when you last called me.", he said, trying to make conversation with Katherine.
"Hmm. I don't need anything. I just wanted to hear your voice, and I also wanted to say that..", Katherine's voice drifted away.
Dylan smiled, and thought of what he could start a topic with Katherine.
"Hey. I'm wearing the shirt you gave me. Do they have this in pink?", he said, even attempting to be funny.
"Hmm. I guess so? Do you hate the color? I thought you like blue.", she said, sounding a little worried.
"Yeah. I was just curious. Hey. I loved this shirt you gave me. Thank you, Katherine."
"Don't worry about it. It's nothing. Hmm."
            "Hmm?", Dylan wondered.
"Hmm. I love you, Dylan.", Katherine said frankly.
"I love you, too Katherine.", Dylan said in a cool, and soothing voice. You know that he's honest, and sincere with what he's feeling.
"What? Are you kidding me? Or am I only dreaming? I'm drunk you know.", Katherine said, then she suddenly burst into laughter.
"Oh. Are you? Oh, well, it won't change what I'm feeling for you anyway.", he said, ignoring Katherine's laughter.
"Wow. I mean it. Wow. You have feelings for me now, too? Oh, that's cool. I thought, I was the only one who had feelings. That this feeling is unrequited.", she said with a snort.
"Hmm. We should probably talk about this tomorrow, personally at school. I mean you're drunk, and all that. This won't probably be the best time to talk about this, Katie.", he answered, using his nickname for Katherine.
Katherine has given time to think about this thought, before she answered Dylan.
"Sure. You're probably right. Hey. By the way, I'm not really drunk. I've just had a few shots, that's all. Plain, and honest to you, sir.", she answered after some time.
"Sure. I'll be there by eight in the morning. Don't be late, okay? We're going to be biking."
"I'm too lazy to get my fat ass ride my bike. Let's just walk instead.", Katherine said lazily.
"No. You're gonna ride with me towards school. Tomorrow, at eight. Get up early. Okay? We'll figure out things, straighten up the sheets, and talk everything through. Okay? Katie?", he said in an authoritative voice.
"Ohh. Okay. Hmm. One last favor before I go to sleep?", she said in a cutesy, begging voice.
            "Shoot."
"Wear that cologne I like tomorrow. I want to smell you with that scent on. Is it okay? Is it too much?", she asked, in a slightly worried tone.
"Katie. Relax. Sure. I'll do it."
            "You forgot something.", Katie mumbled.
            "What is it?"
            "I love you, Dylan."
            "I love you too, Katie."
After that both hang up on their cell phones. Tomorrow they'll be deciding on what to do with their friendship, and with their feelings for one another. Tomorrow is a new chapter.

"To Confused Feelings and A Confession"

"To Confused Feelings and A Confession"
 Haku Matsudaira

Everytime I see you
I get this feeling of confusion
It's something new
I don't know if it's a kind of depression

I (just) keep on looking at you
Hoping that you wouldn't know
I'm trying to hide what I'm feeling
My heart just keeps on beating

Vanishing all doubts in my mind
Removing all worrries from my hand
I started to get ready into doing something
Never really had I expected into doing

A feeling of happiness came in to me,
Cause your look of confusion, and shock
With what I told before you, and your luck
I wanted to look normal, but I couldn't be the normal me.

Now, we're still friends.
I'm thankful for you, not bringing it into an end.
I still adore you, and still am looking at you.
But now I know what I'm feeling is true.

"Attracted To You"

“Attracted to You”
Haku Matsudaira

You were first a stranger to me.
You looked so shy, happy, and free.
We started to be classmates,
And at times we were seatmates.

I used to have this little infatuation on you,
As a matter of time this feeling for you grew.
I did not notice that like a magnet,
You slowly got near to my heart, and got me attracted.

Magnets may be natural or be made artificially,
This feeling came to me gradually.
I can’t calculate the speed of how I fell for you,
But I know that this feeling for you is true.

When I look at the mirror I don’t know if this is still me,
I think I’ve changed, and that this is the new me.
Like I’ve experienced chemical change in matter.
Your cute little mannerisms, makes my heart flutter.

Right now, I’m very confused with what I’m feeling.
I know I have a lot to be thinking,
Like my assignment in Physics, the push and the pull.
Right now, I know I’m looking at you like a fool.

The Hunger Games Movie OST

Safe and Sound by
Taylor Swift feat. The Civil Wars
From “The Hunger Games” Movie Soundtrack
[Taylor Swift]

I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, I’ll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, Don’t leave me here alone
But all that’s dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Don’t you dare look out your window darling
Everything’s on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when music’s gone
Gone

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Just close your eyes
You’ll be alright
Come morning light,
You and I’ll be safe and sound…
